El Instituto Nacional de los Deportes de El Salvador (INDES) dio a conocer los detalles del torneo clasificatorio ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023, a realizarse el próximo jueves 6 y sábado 8 de abril en el estadio Nacional Costa del Sol, rumbo a los Juegos Mundiales de Playa. En el torneo se enfrentarán 11 selecciones regionales, incluidas la selección masculina y femenina del país, que van por los cuatro boletos clasificatorios.
En el periodo de Semana Santa, las seleccionadas masculinas de El Salvador, Estados Unidos, Bahamas, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Trinidad y Tobago, y Belice se enfrentarán por conseguir uno de los dos boletos para los juegos en las arenas de Bali, Indonesia, en agosto. Al igual que las estadounidense, las bahameñas y las trinitenses, contra las “cangrejitas” de playa.
El formato de clasificación para la rama masculina comprenderá desde cuartos des final, en la que los finalistas obtendrán un boleto a Indonesia. Mientras que la femenina, jugarán en tres jornadas, una contra todas, para definir a los países clasificados.
“Es un honor para nosotros trabajar de la mano con Beach Soccer Worldwide organizando un evento internacional de fútbol playa. Además, dejamos en evidencia, una vez más, nuestro total respaldo para el deporte en general, y en específico para está modalidad, tanto en nuestro país como en la región, destacó el presidente del INDES, Yamil Bukele.
El funcionario comentó que se otorgarán $500 mensuales a las jugadoras de la selección como un “estímulo”, hasta que finalice la serie de competencias, con el objetivo de que el equipo se enfoque en la competencia y cubra gastos y necesidades. Cada día de competencia habrá cinco partidos. El primero dará inicio a las 2:45 de la tarde y el último a las 8:00 de la noche. La rama femenina nacional debutará ante Trinidad y Tobago el jueves en el último horario, el viernes a las 6:45 p.m. contra Bahamas y el sábado ante Estados Unidos en el mismo horario.
El cuadro masculino se enfrentará al país que resulte en la semifinal 1, el viernes a las 8:00 de la noche y el sábado a la misma hora se disputará la final, entre los equipos que avancen al último tramo.
Henry Orellana, miembro del Comité de Regularización de la Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol (FESFUT), enfatizó que la institución está lista para apoyar a las selecciones a conseguir los nuevos triunfos, tanto bajo la modalidad de FIFA como de la ANOC.
Los tres días de competencia serán transmitidos por televisión abierta en los canales autorizados. Los boletos ya están disponibles y tienen un valor de $10, y el estadio Costa del Sol está listo para albergar a 2,300 personas.
