El presidente Alberto Fernández anunció hoy el retorno de Argentina a la Unión de Naciones Suramericanas (Unasur) y la reactivación de ese mecanismo de integración, durante un encuentro con integrantes del Grupo de Puebla.
Según la Secretaría de Comunicación y Prensa, el mandatario recibió en el Salón de los Pueblos Originarios de la Casa Rosada a los miembros del Grupo y del Consejo Latinoamericano de Justicia y Democracia.
Entre los participantes en la reunión se encuentran los exmandatarios Ernesto Samper (Colombia), Rafael Correa (Ecuador), Evo Morales (Bolivia) y José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero (España), quienes llegaron a esta nación para participar en el III Foro Mundial de Derechos Humanos.
“En América Latina estamos todos en el mismo bote y la construcción de la unidad debe dejar de lado la utilización política, porque eso nos condena a más postergación. Por eso debemos revitalizar cuanto antes a la Unasur”, aseveró Fernández, quien informó que su país cumplirá con sus obligaciones y ejercerá sus derechos en esa plataforma.
La salida de Argentina de la misma fue anunciada por el Gobierno del expresidente Mauricio Macri el 12 de abril de 2019.
En la actualidad esa instancia está integrada por Guyana, Surinam, Bolivia, Venezuela y Perú, y busca reforzar su institucionalización.
Debemos ponernos de acuerdo en la necesidad de construir un bloque regional como mecanismo de autodefensa porque nadie se salva solo. Si Brasil y Argentina estamos adentro, la Unasur tendrá otra potencia y podremos avanzar para que todos los países hermanos vuelvan a encaminarse, dijo.
Además, abogó por fortalecer la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños y lograr una convergencia que permita consolidad la unidad regional.
Por su parte, Morales indicó que la diversidad cultural es la mayor riqueza de Latinoamérica y resaltó la necesidad de garantizar la soberanía política, ideológica y jurídica.
A su vez, Samper destacó la importancia de que Argentina regrese a Unasur, lo cual permite fortalecer el organismo y retomar las banderas sociales del progresismo.
Esta integración política está basada en preservar la condición de la región como una zona de paz, así como en la continuidad de la democracia y el respeto por los derechos humanos en el continente, sentenció.
En tanto, Correa consideró fundamental la cooperación entre las naciones del área, en especial, ante fenómenos como la crisis económica mundial.
De su lado, Rodríguez Zapatero abogó por lograr un antes y un después en pos de la unidad de Latinoamérica para que la pobreza sea abolida definitivamente y la igualdad y los derechos humanos sean el único horizonte.
