El Comité de Familiares de Presas y Presos Políticos de El Salvador (COFAPPES) señaló que Loreana Peña, expresidenta de la Asamblea Legislativa, y Medardo González, exdiputado y exsecretario general del Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN), son víctimas de la persecución desatada por el régimen de Nayib Bukele, debido al acoso y difamación por acusaciones infundadas a las cuales están siendo sometidos.
“Expresamos nuestro apoyo y respaldo, tal como lo han hecho más de 65 organizaciones de mujeres de la Solidaridad Internacional, quienes reconocen en Lorena su rol de lideresa salvadoreña, que ha trabajado toda su vida por la conquista de la democracia en el país”, afirmó Ivania Cruz, abogada de COFAPPES.
Asimismo, dijo que el régimen de Bukele opera violando los derechos humanos, actuaciones misóginas y difamación de personas opositoras, en particular quienes son de izquierda. Estos hechos son preocupantes pues se quiere criminalizar a las personas con una voz crítica a la mala actuación del gobierno.
“Nuestro Comité no quiere más presas ni presos políticos, por ello señalamos la actuación indebida de la Fiscalía General de la República y de la Corte Suprema de Justicia que, por mandato del actual presidente, crean falsos delitos dañando la imagen y el honor de personas exfuncionarias públicas”, afirmó Cruz.
